Born in 1982, November 6th, at the hospital in Oslo. I lived in Bondibraaten in Asker until I was six years old. Then I moved to Vangsnes in Vik municipality and have lived there since. I have two younger siblings, Ingvild and John Are. I have been an allaround athlete and participated in many other sports when I was younger, such as soccer, volleyball, nordic cross country skiing, orienteering, and biathlon. I also loved ski jumping, and my personal record is 18 meter on telemark skis at Kvamsbakken in Hafslo. The years on high school went pretty fast by at NTG Geilo, and three years with Joar Himle as a coach made a solid base for my biathlon career. In the very begining at home, I had Asbjørn Honsi and Tormod Urnes as coaches. I made the Junior National Team in bitahlon when I was 19, and joined the Recruit Team and National Team later on. There haven't been that much studying during my ski career but I accomplished a basic course in Sport at the University in Sogndal. I am now taking some part-time studies at the University of Stavanger which is pointing in the direction of becomming a teacher. I love hiking in the mountains, and my favourite place is the cabin in Telemark. I like hunting and fishing, and have caughtseveral grouses. I was also hunting reindeers last fall without getting any, the short time of period I had scheduled for hunting. Next fall I am going moosehunting in Telemark if it fits my training shcedule. I also play guitar now and then, and don't mind entertaining other people.
